Summary

The warp in these rugs is typically of cotton. The warp consists of a number of threads that are referred to as "La". Nain 9la rugs are produced mostly in Khorasan, i.e. Kashmar and Mashhad. The high knot density and high class materials (wool and silk) establish Nain rugs and rugs as very high quality.

Classic rugs: Rugs that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by rug designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these rugs, though there may be slight variations in weaving.
