Summary

Vintage rugs by Carpetu2 are produced from older Persian handmade rugs aged at least 40-60 years with a long history. Each rug is carefully selected and subjected to a unique process of reducing the pile to a minimum and neutralizing the color before to be painted in a new exciting color. The result is a combination of the old with the new, the traditional rug design combined with a modern retro style. Vintage rugs can lose some of their original features and become even more unique in their appearance over time in modern new colors and old unique designs.
It has been processed with indelible color.

Between Isfahan and Tehran, near the Dast-e-Kavir desert is the city of Kashan. The city is known for its handmade rugs, textiles and ceramics. The famous Ardebil rug that is found in the Victoria and Albert Museum is thought to have been woven in Kashan in the 16th century. Since 1800 began the organized production of handmade rugs from very renowned weavers in Kashan. The Kashan rugs gained a solid reputation and their success is due to three factors: the great variety of beautiful designs with fine colours, the soft shiny wool that gives a smooth surface to the rugs and the fact that many weavers come from nearby Isfahan who are capable and renowned rug artisans.

Classic rugs: Rugs that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by rug designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these rugs, though there may be slight variations in weaving.

Horizontal or vertical shading in the rug pile: The shading is due to folding the rug during transportation. When the rug is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples
