Vintage rugs by Carpetu2 are produced from older Persian handmade rugs aged at least 40-60 years with a long history.
Each rug is carefully selected and subjected to a unique process of reducing the pile to a minimum and neutralizing the color before to be painted in a new exciting color.
The result is a combination of the old with the new, the traditional rug design combined with a modern retro style.
Vintage rugs can lose some of their original features and become even more unique in their appearance over time in modern new colors and old unique designs.

The city of Kashmar is located in the Khorasan province southwest of the city Mashad in Eastern Iran. Exquisite high quality rugs have been woven for centuries there. The rugs are woven thick, with fine soft wool in beautiful blue colours in contrast with cream and ivory beige. In newer rugs they use soft green, red and brown. Characteristic of Kashmar rugs are the large sizes and the unique designs that look like paintings with trees, flowers and domes of mosques.Also depicted are representations that recount historical events, major incidents from Persian history or a historically known person or the story of a revered Persian king. In Kashmar they weave elegant masterpieces of colour harmony, complexity of designs in detail, to show the Persian love of beauty and art. Kashmar rugs and rugs are durable and grow more beautiful with time.
Classic rugs: Rugs that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by rug designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these rugs, though there may be slight variations in weaving.

Horizontal or vertical shading in the rug pile: The shading is due to folding the rug during transportation. When the rug is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples
