The village Kelardasht is located in Northern Iran, south of the Caspian Sea, near the mountains Alborz. In Kelardasht wonderful rugs are woven. The design of Kelardasht rugs and rugs is usually composed of a hexagon or an octagon, sometimes supplemented by depicting a scarab in the middle. In the central part of the rug, there are simple, linear ornaments as well as flowers. The colours of these rugs are herbal and are often deep red with dark blue-black and brown dominate the rugs. The pile is woven with thick, soft wool and the warp is made of cotton. These rugs are very durable.
