Description
Summary

Name of rugs woven by Armenians in the village Lilian, in the Arak region of Western Iran. The Lilian rugs have a thick colourful pile. In their designs they often use floral geometric curvilinear motifs. The rugs are collected and sold in the markets of the city Hamadan.

In older rugs there may be little wear.

Nomadic rugs with designs influenced by urban rugs: They are rugs woven by nomads who for the past few years had been living in villages. The rugs are woven in the nomadic style of weaving, but their designs are nowadays influenced by urban rugs. Due to the nomadic style of weaving rugs are sometimes uneven in shape.
