Beshir is small town in Western Turkmenistan. The rugs woven here belong to the group of Bokhara. Rugs that are woven along the Amu Darya River in Northern Afghanistan are also called Beshir. Most of the rugs are woven by the Ersari Turkomen nomads. The Beshir rugs are from Herati motifs with geometric patterns and boteh. Related rugs and rugs are Ersari and Salor, but have different aesthetic from neighbouring Turkmenistan's rugs.
